4 Cleveland Browns who could be playing in their final game with franchise
By Greg Newland
1. Cleveland Browns WR, Jarvis Landry
This one will be hard for some fans to digest, but I think even Jarvis Landry knows this Sunday will be his last game for the Cleveland Browns. The receiving group has struggled all year, and I look for this to be a position that Andrew Berry builds from the ground up.
Landry has spent four years in Cleveland, and the first three were very strong. He was never an elite wide receiver who could run by anyone, but he is crafty and did a great job of getting open in the zones and getting yards after the catch.
After nearly 3,000 yards and 13 touchdowns his first three seasons with the Browns, he has been limited to under 500 yards receiving and one lone receiving touchdown on the season. Landry has also missed multiple games with injuries, after going years without missing a game.
A split between Landry and the Browns is likely best for both parties, but also, the Cleveland Browns will add over $15 million in cap space by moving on from the veteran wide receiver. Landry was a great leader but just isn’t worth the money at this point in his career.
Last year you saw a big focus in free agency on the defense, this year you can expect that at wide receiver to help rebuild the room. Don’t be shocked to see multiple picks used on the position as well.
