Browns 2022 draft Round 4: Amaré Barno, EDGE, Virginia Tech

It might seem like a stretch to go with back-to-back defensive ends but with Carter being able to slide inside, it makes sense to grab a more traditional edge here. On top of that, Jadeveon Clowney isn’t the only free agent defensive end as Takk McKinley is also set to hit the open market.

That’s why they grab Amaré Barno from Virginia Tech with the first of two picks in Round 4. The 6-foot-6 Barno has 10 sacks over the past two seasons for the Hokies and while he’s not as finished of a product as Carter, he can get home — and could prove to be a third-down specialist for the Browns.

Browns 2022 draft Round 4: Reggie Roberson Jr., WR, SMU

After shoring up their pass rush, Cleveland now turns their focus back to the offensive side of the ball — and back to wide receiver. This time, they pick up Reggie Roberson, Jr. from SMU.

A transfer from West Virginia, Roberson is an ascending wideout with decent size at 6-foot-2 and 200-pounds. Unlike Jameson Williams who was taken in the opening round, Roberson is more of a developmental player but he’s one who has a whole lot of upside due to his shiftiness and the way he masters his routes.

Most importantly, Roberson has great hands. This season, the Browns wide receivers struggled with drops and adding a sure-handed player such as Roberson should help them improve on offense.
