Cleveland Browns Big Name Free Agent Target No. 2

Harold Landry

The Cleveland Browns should have a Landry on their roster in 2022, but not necessarily the Landry you are thinking of and likely wanting to return.

Unless Jarvis Landry is willing to take a pay cut or restructure his current deal, he is not the Landry that should be on the Browns roster in 2022. Instead, Cleveland should look to sign linebacker Harold Landry.

Landry is coming off the final season of his rookie deal and it was a season that should set him up for a pretty lucrative payday in a couple of months, whether he stays in Tennessee with the Titans or signs elsewhere, hopefully, Cleveland.

Playing in all 17 games this season, Landry put up new career-highs in a variety of stat categories. He finished with 12 sacks, 74 tackles (14 for loss), 22 quarterback hits, 43 pressures, and a forced fumble. He is someone who doesn’t miss time and played in 90 percent of the Titans defensive snaps this season.

Much like Jones was discussed earlier on this list, Landry would do a lot of damage to opposing quarterbacks if he were to be lined up with Garrett and Clowney, again if Clowney re-signs. He can be used similarly to how T.J. Watt is in Pittsburgh, where he can line up in the linebacker position or on the line as an EDGE rusher.

The Titans drafted Landry in the second round (41st overall) in the 2018 draft and have to be pleased with the production he has provided in his four years. It will likely be hard for the Browns to lure Landry away from Nashville, but Andrew Berry should do all he can to try and do so.
