Potential Landing Spot No. 4

Los Angeles Chargers

Justin Herbert is one of the rising stars at the quarterback position in the NFL after only his second professional season. He is a quarterback who has a cannon for an arm and is also able to extend plays with his legs.

In 2021, Herbert threw for 5,014 yards, 38 touchdowns, and 15 interceptions. He put the Chargers in a position to make the playoffs, which ultimately came up short due to losing the regular-season finale to the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Chargers could lose Mike Williams this offseason as he is a free agent who will demand a lot of suitors. One of those suitors should be the Browns if the price is right. In 2021, Williams hauled in 76 passes from Herbert for 1,146 yards and nine touchdowns. He is a big body who can make plays anywhere on the field.

Landry would not be a replacement or even an upgrade over Williams, but he would be a viable, veteran presence for Herbert to dish the rock to.  The ability to extend the play would be good for a guy like Landry, who can have more time to operate in the middle of the field, finding the open spots.

In an ideal world, it would be nice if the Browns and Chargers swapped receivers, even if it wasn’t in an actual trade.
