Cleveland Browns: 6 potential landing spots for Jarvis Landry
Jarvis Landry Potential Landing Spot No. 1
Kansas City Chiefs
Patrick Mahomes is a human cheat code when it comes to playing quarterback in the NFL. He is arguably the best in the game today and it’s no wonder he’s played in four-straight AFC Championship games. He is on a historic ascension and is only getting better.
In 2021, Mahomes tossed the ball all over the yard to the tune of 4,839 yards, 37 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions. Mahomes and the Chiefs struggled to start the season but picked it up in a big way down the stretch and in the playoffs. In two playoff games this season, Mahomes has passed for 782 yards, eight touchdowns, and one interception while also having a rushing touchdown.
Mahomes even led the Chiefs back from the brink of playoff elimination when he orchestrated a 48-yard drive with just 13 seconds remaining to tie the game against the Bills only to eventually win it on the first drive of overtime.
The Kansas City offense is built on speed and finding the openings on the field and Landry could fit the latter quite well. Like most quarterbacks mentioned on this list, Mahomes is able to extend plays with his legs and he can also make absurd throws even when it doesn’t look like a window is open. Most defenses heavily game plan, and rightfully so, for Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce. This would allow less attention to be paid to Landry, who could thrive in the open field.
Andy Reid is another Hall of Fame coach who could get the very most out of Landry and it would be another great pairing. If the Chiefs were to go after Landry, it would mean Landry would be on a perennial Super Bowl contender, something that isn’t quite a thing for the Browns.
I will be sad if and when Jarvis Landry is released, but it won’t be the end of the road for him. If this is goodbye, thank you for everything you’ve done for the Cleveland Browns organization.
