Cleveland Browns Free Agent Option No. 2 – Tashaun Gipson

After starting his career with the Cleveland Browns, Tashaun Gipson has bounced around to three different teams, but a reunion may make sense this year. Not only would Gipson bring in veteran leadership, but he is also a guy that can still play at a high level.

Gipson would be a different type of player compared to a Diggs, he is a true strong safety and would be playing one half of the secondary along with Johnson. This would make Delpit the fifth safety that would be moving around in the box where he was impressive that second half of the 2021 season.

Gipson has been in the league for 10-years now, he could be extremely enticed to play for a competitive team and go somewhere he won’t be asked to play 90 percent of the defensive snaps. He would certainly be on the field a good amount, but Johnson and Delpit would be featured.

Gipson had two okay seasons with Chicago. He wasn’t bad but didn’t necessarily stand out either. He will have some interest in free agency but won’t be a guy that gets his own headline when he decides where to sign.

The price being right is the biggest reason this reunion could be possible. Berry will be spending a lot of money on an edge rusher and a wide receiver; safety could be where he goes to the discount bin.
