The Senior Bowl is being played Saturday. There are several quarterbacks that will be playing the game that the Cleveland Browns will be scouting.

When you hear the word quarterback, and you are a Cleveland Browns fan, well that can cause a lot of anxiety. Maybe having run through 30 or more of these valuable members of the football team since the Browns returned in1999 could be part of that cause of stress. It’s the one topic that gets the most chatter amongst fans. We see how important the position is regularly.

This year’s Super Bowl will feature Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals battling Matthew Stafford, of the Los Angeles Rams. Neither has led their teams to this big game until now, but both have shown consistencies that have helped get their squads to this point. In the case of Burrow, he’s only in his second year in the league.

He has a good group of skill players around him that have helped him too, but he has been strong in showing focus and limiting mistakes. Stafford has been in the league forever, mostly as the former Detroit Lions quarterback. In Detroit, the team around him wasn’t as skilled and the mistakes produced by the team prevented those teams and Stafford from going anywhere.

Now with the Rams, the team has been successful because the players around Stafford are more skilled and the consistent play by Stafford and his limiting mistakes have gotten Los Angeles to the Super Bowl.

The Browns have had their own quarterback Baker Mayfield here now for four seasons. While Mayfield has had moments of brilliance, he’s also had many moments of failure. Some will point to the injuries this past season that he suffered as a reason for his regression. But he’s also had star talent surrounding him and he still hasn’t been able to win with any consistency.

So, with Mayfield preparing for his last season with the Browns on his original rookie contract, there’s been much speculation out there that he could be on his last legs with the team.

This week there are two college football games showcasing the stars at the collegiate level as many prepare to go onto the NFL. Thursday night will be the Shrine Bowl and the Senior Bowl will be next on Saturday. Both these games will be broadcast on the NFL Network so tune in.

Cleveland is evaluating the quarterback room as we speak, and they will be watching closely the quarterbacks that will be playing at the Senior Bowl on Saturday. Let’s take a look at some of these players who could become new members of the Browns.
