The Cleveland Browns will be active in free agency, but they won’t be able to land any of these three big names that some fans are hopeful for.

Just five or six years ago the biggest day for the Cleveland Browns was the draft. They typically had a top-five pick and you were usually arguing with your friends on what quarterback they were going to take (and likely ruin).

And although the Browns have an early pick in 2022 at No. 13 overall, things are certainly in a much better place than ever before. This organization is now in a place where they are able to attract talent, and they are drafting guys worthy of re-signing.

Joe Thomas is one of the only guys I can remember ever getting an extension on this roster before Joel Bitonio broke the streak and has since gotten a third contract with the team. Now you have guys like Nick Chubb, Myles Garret, Wyatt Teller, and Kareem Hunt who have all signed extensions with the team.

Even before the start of the 2021 season, the Browns were hot and heavy to sign Jadeveon Clowney and all but said he didn’t want to come and play for the Browns. Eventually, they ended up signing him and hopefully will re-sign him, but this organization has really come a long way.

Now, I give you the good news to now deliver some bad. The Browns have had so much success that now fans want every big-name player they’ve ever heard of to sign with the team. I get it, I do the same thing at times. However, not every player is a fit, and the NFL does have a salary cap to abide by.  Here are three guys that everyone wants but won’t be playing in Cleveland in 2022.
