Round 2 Cleveland Browns pick 44, Myjai Sanders, EDGE Cincinnati

Myjai Sanders was a guy at times this year that played out of position and statistically speaking didn’t blow you away. He didn’t have the eye-popping sack numbers that others did or even numbers he put up last year. He finished 2021 with 2.5 sacks after putting up seven sacks and 10.5 tackles for loss the year before. Though some of those production numbers weren’t as impressive this year, you have seen them before from Sanders.

Sanders is the kind of guy you want on your team, the guy that is willing to do the dirty work that doesn’t come with glory. One of the best parts of Jadeveon Clowney’s game is setting the edge in the run game, something that Sanders also excels at.

Though he might not always make the tackle he doesn’t let plays get outside of him and forces it back inside where his linebackers are waiting to make plays. Sanders would be perfect to fill Takk McKinley’s old role and give you solid snaps each week while developing into a long-term starter.

Round 3 Cleveland Browns pick 78, Travis Jones Defensive Tackle UConn

The Browns’ defensive ends were really good in 2021 but the interior was a whole other story. They were constantly pushed back and were a liability in the run game. UConn’s Travis Jones is a guy that could drastically change that in 2022. He was one of the biggest problems down in Mobile for last week’s senior bowl. He has the size you want for the interior at 6-foot-5 and 326 pounds, Jones is not a player that gets driven back often.

Jones was clearly the best player on UConn’s football team when you watched the tape, constantly drawing double and sometimes triple teams. Despite being the only player drawing attention he still found a way to make an impact for the Huskies. From the interior, he finished this season with seven and a half tackles for loss and four and a half sacks. A guy like Travis Jones will change the complexity of the Browns’ defense.
