4 Cleveland Browns who will make or break 2022 season
By Greg Newland
While it’s easy to focus on the draft and free agency, these three players already on the Cleveland Browns roster could make or break 2022.
It’s easy for fans of the Cleveland Browns to turn their full attention to free agency and the 2022 NFL draft. After a 2021 season that didn’t go anywhere near as well as planned, everyone just wants to put the difficult campaign in the past.
While that is great and I myself am trying to do the same thing, we must remember that this roster isn’t broken at all. This team has four players that would start on every single team in the NFL in Denzel Ward, Myles Garrett, Nick Chubb, and Wyatt Teller. I would argue there are a few others as well.
Andrew Berry will have a decent chunk of money to work with in free agency, especially after releasing a few veterans with big cap hits, but with extensions looming, he won’t have a blank checkbook like he has the last two years.
The Browns also have a good number of picks, but they were loaded with picks the last two, even three seasons, so he will have to be accurate with the picks he does make.
The bigger focus we should be looking at now is how guys that are currently on the roster perform. Players who are getting big checks and frankly need to earn them. I’m not sure if the issues were coach, drama, or performance in the 2021 season, but it needs to be fixed.
