Free-agent not interested in Cleveland Browns No. 2 – Dalton Schultz

A guy that has really come on the last two years is Dalton Schultz. The tight end who spent the last four years in Dallas will likely be moving on because the Cowboys just won’t have the money to spend.

With it looking like David Njoku may be difficult to keep, adding a guy with the skillset of Schultz would be perfect. Not only is he a great pass catcher, but he is also willing to do the blocking in the run game as well.

Schultz had 800 yards receiving and eight touchdowns last season. And that is with all the other talented guys on the Cowboys offense who need touches.

But, would Schultz be interested in coming to the Browns? Maybe if they failed to retain Njoku and cut Austin Hooper, otherwise why would he want to come and be the number two guy? That’s likely going to be the ultimate reason that the team loses Njoku.

The tricky part with Hooper is the team can’t officially release him until after June 1 to save a substantial amount of cap. Would a conversation with Schultz about the plan forward be enough to motivate him to come to the Browns?

Only time will tell, but even with Schultz being the perfect fit for the Browns, I’m not sure it will happen.
