Free-agent not interested in Cleveland Browns No. 1 – Christian Kirk

There is no doubt that the Cleveland Browns will be in the market for multiple wide receivers. Many believe the organization will draft at the position in round one at pick No. 13, as well as sign a free agent.

High-end wide receiver free agents never seem to work out. The guys that are worth it, seem to all re-sign, the guys who get overpaid go to another team and seem to not perform.

With that being said, I don’t see the Browns going out and spending big money on a free agent wide receiver. For one they don’t have the money, and for two, there is a long history of those types of deals not working.

The Browns could have interest in a guy like Christian Kirk who I would consider a second-tier free agent in 2022. Kirk has spent the last four seasons with the Arizona Cardinals and had his best year in 2021 with just under 1,000 yards receiving and five touchdowns.

Kirk is a smaller guy who has the ability to stretch the field, but I don’t think anyone sees him as an elite NFL wide receiver. If the Browns drafted a possession guy at No. 13, he would fit in nicely.

But why would Kirk want to come to Cleveland? He’s seen guys like Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham struggle to produce. Not to mention guys like Hooper and Njoku who have been heavily underutilized.

I truly don’t know who is to blame for wide receiver struggles in Cleveland, but I don’t see the organization being attractive to many in free agency
