Browns mock draft Round 6 pick No. 191- Cameron Dicker, kicker Texas
It has been a really long time since the Browns have had a reliable kicker, the last one also coming from Texas. Cameron Dicker has one of the stronger legs in this year’s draft and he made 13 of 15 field goals as well as 49 of the 50 extra points he attempted this year. He also averaged 46.8 yards per punt so if you were in a bind he could hold that position down as well.
We saw this year how valuable it is to have a reliable kicker, the Browns lost games because they didn’t have one and the Bengals one some because they did. Being able to finally find the solution to this problem will take pressure off of the offense and help more than just the special teams.
Browns mock draft Round 7 pick No. 220- Nick Muse, tight end South Carolina
The Browns utilize tight ends as much as anyone in the league and if they decide to move on from Austin Hooper finding depth may be necessary. Nick Muse is a guy that isn’t going to beat you verticle but runs good routes and finds ways to get open. Muse also played linebacker in high school and you can see him use his experience to help find the holes in zone coverage.
He is also a very willing blocker and has good size at 6-foot-5 and 249 pounds he does a good job at it. When you are picking in the 7th round you are also starting to look at guys that can play special teams and Muse is also experienced in that area.
Muse would be a nice special teamer that may develop into a solid backup in this league.
