Cleveland Browns: 3 under the radar areas of need
By Greg Newland
The Cleveland Browns come into the 2022 offseason with a few holes on their roster, but there are a few that not enough people are talking about.
Andrew Berry and the Cleveland Browns head into the 2022 offseason hungrier than ever. After high expectations in 2021, the organization became one of (if not the most) biggest disappointments in the league.
I don’t think anyone expected them to take down the Kansas City Chiefs, but many expected them to at least make the playoffs and contend to be in the AFC Championship games. Injuries, COVID19, and drama just couldn’t get out of the way.
With a fresh start for the 2022 season, look for the Browns to be ultra-aggressive in the draft and free agency. At this moment, the focus appears to be on the quarterback, defensive end, and tight end.
With Baker Mayfield coming off surgery, and Jadeveon Clowney and David Njoku set to be free agents, you aren’t wrong to be worried about the position. Most fans are busy arguing if the team should look to trade Mayfield, while others are made the team won’t give him a seven-year extension.
Clowney and Njoku are also big names that will be tough to retain. Clowney may have been the most impactful defensive play last year, and Njoku is by far the most dynamic player the Browns have maybe just behind Nick Chubb.
The bottom line, is I get the concern at those positions, but there are a few others that could have some major question marks in 2022. Here are three positions that not a lot of people are talking about but could have some big holes.
