The Cleveland Browns will have to build via the draft in 2022, here are three guys at this week’s combine that Andrew Berry should be watching.

With the combine in full force, the Cleveland Browns and all other teams in the NFL are fully focused on the young talent about ready to hit the 2022 NFL draft. The combine is a great way of judging athleticism, but general managers must be careful to not just look at the statistics but watch the tape.

Far too often I’ve seen guys who are freaks in the gym but can’t put it together on the field. At the same time, one of my good buddies from high school could barely bench press 225 pounds his senior year, but he received multiple division one scholarship opportunities.

If you want a good example of how stats can be deceiving, check out the list of fastest 40-yard dashes by a wide receiver in combine history. Spoiler alert, you won’t see many guys who had any success in the NFL.

I’m not saying the combine isn’t important, but you can’t use that as your only scouting tool. Andrew Berry has likely been breaking down film on his favorites for months and uses this opportunity to confirm all his opinions.

With the Browns having so many highly paid players, the draft will be a crucial way for them to stay competitive the next few years. You can only pay so much money to established veterans before you run out of cap space.

While the Browns will likely focus on retaining and signing a few free agents, the draft will be a big part of this 2022 roster. Here are a few guys that are as big of household names, but should be on the Browns radar this week.
