Nick Chubb is an elite running back. Anyone who has watched the Cleveland Browns superstar run understands this. However, the stats show that he still might not be getting enough credit.
Warren Sharp recently tweeted about Chubb and how good he has been, saying he’s the first NFL running back to ever average at least five yards per carry on 100-plus carries in each of his first four seasons in the league.
In all, he has 4,816 yards on 908 rushes for an average of 5.3 yards per carry — with 36 touchdowns. It’s not only insane to see a back this productive, but also so consistent.

Yes, the lowest average yardage Chubb has ever had as a pro was 5.0 which he had in 2019 when he ran the ball 298 times for 1,494 yards. Let it sink in that this was his least effective season when it came to yards per touches — and it was an elite campaign.

Thomas Booker and Chance Campbell were named as the No. 2 and No. 3 guys but Amaré Barno was the No. 1 after running a blistering 4.36 in the 40-yard dash. Yes, there’s much more to playing on the edge in the NFL than speed but that was still an eye-popping time which has Barno being looked at once again by many who may have glossed him over at first.
