Free agency is set to open in a couple of days. Here are four players the Cleveland Browns should consider adding to their roster for the 2022 season.

Free agency is just around the corner and the Cleveland Browns could end up being rather active.

Their roster isn’t in bad shape, by any means, but there are a few positions where they could be thin if their own free agents do exit.

Here, we look ahead to when the new season begins and identify four players the Browns need to consider as they re-tool their roster for the 2022 season.

Cleveland Browns FA target No. 4: Maliek Collins, DT

The Browns currently have two defensive tackles set for free agency and it happens to be both their starters from the 2021 season. Malik Jackson and Malik McDowell each came over on one-year deals and could be one-and-done.

Well, McDowell, we can be pretty sure is done. He was already on his last chance in the league this past season and ended up being arrested once the year was over. Not only is Cleveland going to move on, but everyone else likely will as well.

As for Jackson, he’s 32-years of age and may have been a stop-gap as they groomed Jordan Elliott and Tommy Togiai. But if they feel as though those two aren’t ready, or just want more veteran depth, Maliek Collins could be an option.

After spending his first four seasons in Dallas, Collins played for the Raiders and the Texans over the past two seasons and continues to be a starting-caliber defensive tackle. He won’t light up the scoreboard but he did have 29 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and a pick for Houston last season.

Collins could be another bridge starter who has a lot of experience that could be very useful.
