Cleveland Browns Round 2 Pick: John Metchie, WR, Alabama

Amari Cooper being in Cleveland means they no longer need a No. 1 receiver. They could use more depth, however, especially with the news that they have allowed Jarvis Landry to seek a trade. The good news is, there are a lot of talented receivers in this class that should be on the board in Round 2, including John Metchie of Alabama.

Metchie entered 2021 as a first-round prospect but was surpassed by Jameson Williams who transferred from Ohio State. Even with Williams being in Tuscaloosa, Metchie had 96 receptions for 1,142 yards and eight touchdowns.

He’s a great athlete who can play on the boundary and in the slot. Metchie is also coming off a torn ACL but as long as he’s healthy, he could be a great second option across from Cooper.

Cleveland Browns Round 3 Pick: Zachary Carter, DT, Florida

With their first of two picks in the third round, Cleveland decides to bolster the interior of their defensive line with the selection of Zachary Carter from Florida. He’s listed at 6-foot-4 and 282-pounds making him a little light for the 3-tech but his ability to generate a pass rush makes him worth the selection.

Carter also has the ability to play on the edge similar to what they had in Sheldon Richardson. He could work in a rotation with Jordan Elliott and Tommy Togiai, giving the Browns an improved interior.
