Cleveland Browns Player Who Benefits Most No. 1: Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt

Yes, I know that the article headline said three players that would benefit, but I felt that these two went hand-in-hand, so consider this a bonus.

The Browns boast arguably the best running back tandem in the entire NFL in Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt. You can even make the argument that Chubb is the overall best running back in the league and few would check you on it.

Last season, Chubb finished second in the NFL in rushing yards. He toted the rock 228 times for 1,259 yards (5.5 yards per carry), and eight touchdowns. He also missed three games due to injury, so he might have had a chance at the rushing title had he not been sidelined.

Hunt was hampered even further by injuries as he missed nine games with various ailments. In his eight games, he rushed for 386 yards and two touchdowns. His numbers would have been even better had it not been for the injury bug.

Both were used in the passing game a little bit as well. Chubb caught 20 passes on 25 targets for 174 yards and a touchdown. Hunt caught 22-of-27 passes also for 174 yards, but no touchdowns.

With Watson no under center, this benefits the running back duo in a couple of different ways. First, no defense will be able to stack eight or nine in the box and dare the quarterback to beat them. Running lanes will be open because Watson is the caliber of quarterback who can really make defenses look foolish.

Second, if the Browns wish, they can run a wing-style offense at times with Chubb and Hunt on the sides of Watson. This could give the Browns a terrifying three-headed monster out of the backfield, which would not be a good sign for opposing defenses. Lastly, the duo, more so Hunt than Chubb, will benefit from a quarterback who will hit them in the flat when they are open. Either one in open space is a great thing for the Browns.

At the end of the day, Watson makes the Cleveland offense scary, especially when you factor in everyone who will benefit from this trade and what they are truly capable of.
