There are several Cleveland Browns free agents that are looking for new homes but could a few of them return to the dawg pound?

We are a couple of weeks into the NFL free agency window, and several Cleveland Browns free agents are still available and looking for a new team. Where will they land, and would the Browns consider bringing any of these free agents back?

The Browns could eventually end up with $40 million in cap space if they can eventually trade their former franchise quarterback Baker Mayfield. That part of the story is still a mystery and at this point, the team may be forced to absorb some of the $18.8 million guaranteed to Mayfield if they want to trade him.

Cleveland made some other moves, besides the Deshaun Watson trade that have certainly made their team better including trading for former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper and franchise tagging their tight end David Njoku. They also helped their special team’s room by adding an experienced punt and kick-off return ace in Jakeem Grant, from the Chicago Bears.

Who will the Browns still try to bring in view free agency is anyone’s case, but a few new free agents from the Browns might find themselves back in orange and brown? Let’s discuss a few of those players and others that may be playing somewhere else next fall.

Cleveland Browns free agent No. 1: WR, Jarvis Landry

Jarvis Landry was recently cut by the team to save them upwards of $16 million in cap space. There have been various reports over the last week that have speculated that Landry might like to return to Cleveland to be able to catch passes from Watson. But many teams are needing wide receivers next season including the Atlanta Falcons, New Orleans Saints, Green Bay Packers, and the Kansas City Chiefs.

It was reported also that Landry parted ways with his former agent and that Landry was in pursuit of $20 million annually which my colleague at DPD Joel Cade suggested was outrageous.

Landry was well-loved by many Browns fans over the years and his release was met by many with sadness. This week should be interesting to see if Landry picks a new home or decides to come home to the dawg pound.
