Cleveland Browns free agent No. 4: S, Ronnie Harrison

Ronnie Harrison had a decent two seasons in Cleveland after coming over from the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2020. He collected 96 tackles, had two sacks and two interceptions in his time with the Browns. One of those interceptions was a nice pick-six, where he scampered 47 yards for the score.

But Harrison didn’t live up to the billing that many had projected him at. He made mistakes in the secondary or looked lost on many occasions when trying to play in the Browns defensive zone schemes. It’ll be interesting to see where he ends up next season.

He made a little over $2 million last season in Cleveland and he certainly will look to make more than that but do teams have confidence in his abilities. He’s only 24 years old, so I’d guess many teams would like to sign him at the right price. There have been reports of teams like the Minnesota Vikings, Dallas Cowboys, and the Detroit Lions all showing some interest.

Cleveland Browns free agent No. 5: Takkarist McKinley

Takk McKinley was having a good season a year ago when he ruptured his Achilles tendon in December. The injury is serious and could limit other NFL teams from trying to sign him to a new deal.

His deal last year with the Browns paid him over $3.5 million and he’ll be an even cheaper bargain next season if a team takes a chance on him. He’s still only 26 years old and had 18 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and had eight quarterback hits for Cleveland.

Some teams like the Denver Broncos and the Cincinnati Bengals have been mentioned as landing spots, but with the injury and recovery, there won’t be a big push for his services. The Browns could always consider bringing him back for depth purposes.

We may finally get some more substantial activity this week in free agency after this first wave of signees end. The Browns working on bringing back Jarvis Landry and Jadeveon Clowney seem like the most reasonable moves at the right price.
