Cleveland Browns Free Agent Target No. 2 – Will Fuller, Wide Receiver

I know there has been a lot of Jarvis Landry chatter and a possible return, but I really don’t think that happens. Landry was a big part of this organization, but it’s just to a point where it is better for both parties to move on.

The perfect fit still appears to be Will Fuller, who certainly has some question marks, but provides a ton of upside compared to a guy like Landry.

Fuller, when on the field has proven to be one of the most effective wide receivers in the league. He has the speed to be a deep threat and is also a fantastic route runner. That and his history with Watson is enough to have me ready to sign him now.

So, what’s the catch (no pun intended)?

Fuller has not proven that he can stay healthy. I assume the only reason a deal hasn’t been reached yet is that Berry is still waiting for the price to drop. It will be interesting to see if Watson steps in to get his friend paid, like what we saw LeBron James do with the Cavaliers.

I would expect this deal to get done. It will likely be a one-year deal with a low base and a ton of incentives based on production and availability. If Fuller crushes it, he will likely get his big deal next offseason.

Even with the injury concerns, the better pick right now for the Browns at wide receiver is to go with Fuller. Especially with the depth of the NFL draft and knowing you can get a great wide receiver at pick No. 44 in Round 2.
