The Cleveland Browns have made a couple of big deals but there are still holes in their roster, let’s look at 3 players they should not sign and why.

The NFL offseason is far from over and the Cleveland Browns have a few roster holes they need to fill in free agency and the draft. The team still does not have any legitimate starters at the defensive tackle position and could use another wide receiver or two. But not every free agent name that is floated out there would be a scheme fit for the Browns.

Let’s take a look at a couple of names that have been linked in one way or another to the Browns that don’t make sense. Though they may be capable players at some point in their careers their current trajectory and skill set don’t make sense for the 2022 Cleveland Browns.

Free Agent Cleveland Browns should avoid No. 3: Julio Jones, wide receiver, Tennesee Titans.

For a long period of time, Julio Jones was one of if not the best receiver in the entire league, but those days are past. In the past two seasons, Jones has missed a total of 14 games and scored just 4 touchdowns during that time. Jones is also 33 years old with the best years of his career likely behind him.

Jones also has a similar skill set as Browns receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones and adding a receiver that does similar things doesn’t add much to the offense. The Browns need to add different skill sets to open the playbook and add different options. The Browns need to add more talent at the receiver position but Julio Jones isn’t a good match.
