The Cleveland Browns want to continue to add talent to their wide receiving corps and a new rumor is suggesting they could be going after Brandin Cooks

There have already been some huge additions to the Cleveland Browns roster this offseason as they added quarterback Deshaun Watson as well as wide receiver Amari Cooper.

They’re also reportedly not done looking at wideouts with many reports suggesting Cleveland could be trying to add Will Fuller, who was a former teammate of Watson’s with the Houston Texans. But there could be another wideout from Houston on the radar for Cleveland.

According to Brad Stainbrook of The OBR, the Browns have reached out to the Texans to see what it would take to acquire Brandin Cooks.

"“The Browns have had talks with the Houston Texans regarding receiver Brandin Cooks at times this offseason, a league source tells TheOBR.The extent of those talks is unknown, but the Browns have called on the former first-round draft pick as they continue to explore possible options.” — Stainbrook, The OBR"

Cooks was a first-round pick for the New Orleans Saints back in 2014 out of Oregon State and quickly became a 1,000-yard receiver. In eight seasons, and with four different teams, he has topped the 1,000-yard mark six times including 2020 when he had 1,150 yards on 81 receptions while working with Deshaun Watson.

Throughout his career, Cooks has been an incredibly quiet player but he continues to rack up a ton of catches and yards. His no-nonsense attitude would be a great addition alongside Amari Cooper who approaches the game much in the same way.

It remains to be seen if Cleveland is going to make a move here but Cooks has been rumored to be on the block all offseason and the Browns need more help at wide receiver — which is why it wouldn’t be a shock to see a move made again between these two teams.
