Cleveland Browns: Logan Hall could be exactly what they need
By Jacob Roach
The defensive line of the Cleveland Browns needs help, let’s take a look at defensive lineman Logan Hall and why the Browns should draft him.
The 2022 NFL draft is almost here, we are less than two weeks away from finally finding out which rookies will land in Cleveland. The Cleveland Browns have got to add more talent along the defensive line, both at defensive tackle and edge rusher opposite Myles Garrett. University of Houston defensive lineman Logan Hall could help to fill the hole at both positions.
Logan Hall checked in at the NFL combine at 6-foot-6 and 275 pounds, which would be considered a little small for a normal defensive tackle. But Hall has shown on tape that he has the ability to play both inside and out and likely projects more as an outside rusher in the NFL. Hall could see time outside while also kicking inside for passing downs to provide a consistent rush from the defensive interior.
Browns’ general manager Andrew Berry loves players with versatility like Logan Hall can provide along the defensive line. During Hall’s final season at Houston, he totaled six sacks and 13 tackles for loss. Hall has a knack for “getting skinny” and slipping in between offensive linemen with great speed and athleticism to get after opposing quarterbacks.
Hall has a great explosion off the line of scrimmage and his first step is already borderline elite, he flashed great speed for someone of his size at the NFL combine running a 4.88 40-yard dash. Hall’s athletic testing showed that his athleticism is next level, a guy at his size with his athletic profile and versatility isn’t something you see often.
The Browns need help along the line and it just isn’t often you can find someone that helps fill two holes on the roster. Logan Hall would be a great scheme fit and along with hopefully re-signing Jadeveon Clowney would make a great pass rush for the Browns.
Logan Hall might not last until the Browns are on the clock at 44 but if he is there it would be a slam dunk pick.
