Cleveland Browns mock draft: Bolstering the D-line
By Jacob Roach
Cleveland Browns pick number 78- Josh Paschal, edge, Kentucky
Josh Paschal is an explosive and great athlete that can really get after the quarterback and has really nice size at 6-foot-3 and 278 pounds. He moves as though he was closer to 250 pounds which is rather impressive holding extra weight and not being less explosive compared to smaller edge players.
One of Paschal’s most impressive traits is his motor, he does not take a play-off and will play through every whistle. Paschal isn’t just a rusher, he has good size and strength that allows him to set the edge in the run game. Paschal isn’t easily moved by an offensive lineman in the run game and shows a nice balance of speed and power in the pass rush game as well.
Cleveland Browns pick number 99- Jeremy Ruckert, tight end, Ohio State
The Cleveland Browns moved on from tight end Austin Hooper earlier this offseason and are likely looking for more depth at the position. One of the more well-rounded tight ends in this class is Ohio State’s, Jeremy Ruckert.
Ruckert is an asset in both the running and passing games, he is an above-average blocker with the physical tools to get better.
He was overshadowed at Ohio State but if you watch him in the passing game he made more than a few eye-opening catches during his career. Ruckert struggles at times to get much separation but he makes up for it with great reliable hands and the ability to go up and get the ball. He isn’t the greatest athlete but has good route running reliable hands, and is willing to do the dirty work blocking in both the passing game downfield and the running game.
