Cleveland Browns Potential Bust to Avoid No. 2: David Ojabo, Linebacker, Michigan

A guy whose talent is absolutely endless is David Ojabo. The standout pass rusher from Michigan dominated the 2021 college football season and had his stock at an all-time high before suffering an Achilles tear during his pro day.

I’m all for a good deal, and the Browns laded Grant Delpit and Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah as late as they did because of health reasons, but even if Ojabo would happen to fall late in round two or early in round three, I’m not sure he is ready for the NFL.

Again, he is one of those guys who is a tweener. He doesn’t have the athleticism to play linebacker in the NFL, but I don’t see him with the size at only 250 pounds to play defensive end in the NFL. With a limited number of teams running a 3-4 system which is his best fit, he could see his demand drop even more.

Remember, Ojabo has only played in 20 college football games, saw the field very little vs. their best opponent all season in Georgia, and lacks the strength to be efficient vs. an NFL running game.

At this point, Ojabo is too much of a one-trick pony rushing the passer, and with a serious injury and recovery to boot, I hope the Browns just decide to pass on the Wolverine prospect.
