Myles Garrett wants his former teammate Jadeveon Clowney back in the mix with the Cleveland Browns and he posted an IG message recently sharing that sentiment

Myles Garrett, the Cleveland Browns star defensive end seemed to suggest he really wanted his teammate Jadeveon Clowney to return to the team next season. Clowney is currently a free agent as he hasn’t signed with the Browns or any other team at this point.

Clowney has had a history of waiting things out to try and maximize his worth to teams however, there aren’t indications of a huge market for Clowney this year.

As to his potential return to The Land, Garrett posted a message on his Instagram account on Friday that would suggest that he wants his partner back.

Can the band get back together? With this new message, it would seem to suggest that Clowney is close to resigning with the Browns but we all will have to wait a bit longer to see if they’ll be playing tunes together next fall.

The two bookends to the defensive line were excellent a year ago and Clowney had a resurgence in his career after a year in Cleveland. While Garrett broke the team sack record for a season, with 16 sacks, Clowney ended up coming up with nine sacks of his own and added 37 tackles.

The two played well together and the Browns defense was much better with the two of them on either side of the defensive line. The hope going into the season was that the two former first-round picks would gel and play off of each other’s strengths to create havoc for opponents and it certainly panned out that way in the end.

Clowney is seeking a big payday after last season’s improvements but he may not get the bigger deal he was hoping for. The Browns paid him $8 million a year ago and some projections suggest him getting closer to $12 million this next season.

It’s not sure what the Browns have offered him already but hopefully, this latest post by Garrett is a good sign for Cleveland and Clowney will be a Brown again.

Nate Ulrich, of the Akron Beacon Journal, also reported earlier that Clowney and the Browns have a mutual interest in working a new deal out.
