The NFL Draft always comes with twists and turns and there are three ideal picks the Cleveland Browns can make in the first two rounds.

The Cleveland Browns are gearing up for the 2022 NFL Draft and there are a ton of prospects that would complement this football team well. Outside of a few glaringly obvious picks, nobody truly knows how the draft board will fall and that is due to the sheer unpredictability of the entire event.

Teams will put deals in place to move up and down the board throughout the three days and that will throw various wrinkles into the draft plans of every NFL general manager. Last year, Cleveland’s general manager Andrew Berry traded up in the second round to draft Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah in arguably the steal of the draft. Ironically, the Browns begin their draft journey in the second round, as they have no first-round pick due to the Deshaun Watson trade.

The Browns do possess three picks in the top-99 – as of right now- so they are still going to make value picks. I don’t foresee the Browns trading up into either the late first-round or early second-round unless this scenario plays out; EDGE rusher George Karlaftis falls out of the first round.

There has been speculation that Karlaftis could escape the first round without being drafted. This is arguably a top-10 talent and there’s a chance that he could not be picked in the first-32 picks? If this happens, I implore Berry to make the move up and cash in for the next four years.

Karlaftis is a 6-foot-4, 266-pound defensive monster that would be a great pairing alongside Myles Garrett and potentially Jadeveon Clowney.

It would be wonderful if Jameson Williams fell to the Browns at 44, but that’s not likely, as I feel he can still go in the first round despite coming off an ACL injury.

With that said, let’s look at the more realistic ideal picks for Cleveland in their first three selections.
