3 players the Cleveland Browns can still add on Day 2 of NFL Draft

Player No. 1 available to the Cleveland Browns on Day 2: LB, Nakobe Dean, Georgia
A player of Nakobe Dean’s caliber should have gone in the first round so the fact that he’s still available on Day 2 is odd — but if the Browns evaluated him high on their draft board trying to move up in a trade to grab him would be a bold move.
He stands at 6 feet and 225 pounds. He was tackling machine at Georgia. He finished with 168 tackles in the three years that included 13.5 for losses. He also had six sacks in his last season and intercepted two passes and forced two fumbles.
With the Browns drafting Jeremiah Owusu-Koromoah a year ago in the second round drafting Dean in the second round would be fantastic for a team that still needs help in the linebacker room.
Dean was projected as a first-round player and I’ve got to think Cleveland rated him very high as well. The Browns don’t necessarily need a new linebacker but he’s such a talent that I’m sure the team is discussing the possibilities. Teams such as Cleveland aren’t going to get to a championship until they have a deeper team athletically and have strengths at positions like linebacker.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers currently own the No. 33 pick and the Minnesota Vikings own the No. 34 pick. I worry about Dean landing with the Buccaneers, but maybe they’d be willing to make a trade with the Browns. I’d think Cleveland would have an even better shot at trading up with the Vikings because of the connection with the Vikings new general manager.
So many possibilities for Day 2. The Browns didn’t even have a pick on Day 1 and the attention that fans of the team paid to the first round was impressive. I imagine Day 2 will be just as exciting. Enjoy the show and grab your popcorn!
