Player No. 2 Cleveland Browns will regret not drafting: DT, Travis Jones, UConn

Like Ojabo, Travis Jones, a defensive tackle from UConn was passed over by the Browns and selected by, of course, the Baltimore Ravens. Have we discovered any trends here?

The massive tackle was projected as a first or second-round pick and ended up going at pick No. 76. The Browns took another defensive end in Alex Wright who looks like a good selection. But Jones was one of the best defensive tackles that could have helped the interior of the Browns defense tremendously and probably right away.

Jones is a towering 6-foot-5 and 330-pound defensive tackle and was a terror against offensive linemen he ran up against. He fished this last season with 48 tackles including 7.5 for losses and 4.5 sacks. He’s very quick for his size and was able to move along the line with strength and get into the backfield often. Jones played a lot and rarely came off the field in college. He could have been a valuable asset to a Browns team longing for defensive tackle help.

The fact that he’s now a Raven is just more aggravating. It’s almost as if the Ravens take great pride in trying to agitate and be that thorn in the side of the Browns side. The fact too that they stole Cleveland’s original football team just makes all of these moments still painful to experience.
