Week 2: Cleveland Browns home against New York Jets

A Week 2 contest with the New York Jets will be the home opener for the Cleveland Browns. The Jets have been the talk of the NFL these last couple of weeks because of their outstanding drafting of players including former Ohio State Buckeye wide receiver Garrett Wilson.

New York has been bad for the last several seasons. However, I will also remind you that the Browns lost to the Jets the last time they played each other back in 2020. That game was supposed to be an easy win however, the entire wide receiver room was quarantined because of Covid, and the team lost.

The Jets now have drafted well and have a rising quarterback named Zach Wilson who will now have Garrett Wilson to throw the ball to.

Since the matchup in 2022 is the home opener, there should be more energy in FirstEnergy Stadium — that extra hype from the crowd should favor the home team.

Depending on the results of this game the team will have another important test the following Thursday as they’ll host the Pittsburgh Steelers. So, setting the tone with a win against New York will be very important.
