The Cleveland Browns remain without a pick in Round 1, but still land plenty of talent including a new right tackle in this way-too-early 2023 Mock Draft

Even with the 2022 NFL Draft still fresh, it feels like a good time to look ahead to the 2023 NFL Draft, which is what we do here in this way-too-early Cleveland Browns Mock Draft.

General manager Andrew Berry started out this past draft by trading down, and with Cleveland already not possessing a first-round pick, they didn’t select anyone until Round 3.

In this mock, no trades are being predicted so Cleveland will be on the board in Round 2 — still not owning a first-round selection due to the Deshaun Watson trade. And here, they start things out by bulking up their offensive line.

Cleveland Browns Round 2 Pick: Robert Scott, Jr, OT, Florida State

Depending on where you look, Robert Smith, Jr. is being predicted to go in Round 1 or Round 2 this coming season. In this mock, he’s on the board when Cleveland selects in Round 2 and he would be an ideal selection for them.

Smith is listed at 6-foot-5 and 315-pounds and has the athleticism to play on the left side as well as the strength to handle the power rushers he would face on the right. He’s also played a lot at each position, making him very versatile.

In Cleveland, Smith would play on the right side with Jack Conklin set for free agency before the 2023 season. Conklin has been a solid player but the Browns get younger, healthier, and save some money with this move.

Cleveland Browns Round 3 Pick: Demani Richardson, S, Texas A&M

After adding a new starting right tackle, the Browns turn their attention to the secondary as they bring in Demani Richardson from Texas A&M with their third-round pick. Cleveland likes to go three deep at safety and can use some depth with Ronnie Harrison playing on a one-year deal in 2022.
