As the Cleveland Browns begin to look to the upcoming season, Andrew Berry needs to continue to improve the roster by bringing in more competition and depth

The Cleveland Browns completed their 2022 NFL Draft, and are heading towards training camp.

While some Browns fans were disappointed with the outcome of this draft class, fans need to be excited about the fact that Cleveland didn’t need to draft for need, rather they drafted the best players available for depth.

While the team brought in a lot of depth through the draft and free agency, Andrew Berry needs to continue to bring more players in to compete for roster spots and bulk up the roster’s depth.

Here are three things Andrew Berry and the front office need to do now:

Cleveland Browns need No. 3: Move on from Baker Mayfield

The Browns need to figure out a way to move on from Baker Mayfield before he becomes even more of a distraction.

While it may make sense for the Browns to hang on to Mayfield and draw the process out, if the front office has the opportunity to part ways with him, they need to capitalize on that.

Baker will report to everything he needs to, in order to get him nearly $18M in guaranteed money, according to multiple reports. Him reporting to training camp and other mandatory events may cause a major distraction for the players and create an awkward tension.

There may be a sleeper team in the running for Mayfield, but as of now, it’s looking like either the Panthers or Seahawks as a landing spot.

The Browns should take on around $8M of Mayfield’s fully guaranteed fifth-year option in order to move him to another team.

However, it appears Cleveland is only willing to take on a few million dollars of his contract which is why he has yet to be traded.

The Browns may be playing the waiting game with Baker, and potentially waiting until a team desperately needs a quarterback.

There is almost no scenario where Mayfield will take another snap in a Browns uniform, so Cleveland needs to move on from him as soon as they can.
