Andrew Berry and the Cleveland Browns made a ton of huge moves in the 2022 offseason. These 3 under the radar moves may prove to be bigger.

The Cleveland Browns and Andrew Berry have been extremely busy this offseason. They started by trading for star receiver Amari Cooper, and then really shocked the world when they landed Deshaun Watson and signed him to a massive extension.

The Browns front office also worked on long-term extensions for Denzel Ward and David Njoku. Think about this, before some of the extensions that happened the last offseason, Joe Thomas and Joel Bitonio are the only two players to last more than one contract with the reincarnated Browns.

In the last 12 months, we have seen extensions with Nick Chubb, Wyatt Teller, Bitonio (again), Njoku, Ward, and Myles Garrett. So, while the 2021 season was a huge disappointment for fans, we must remember how far we have come since the 1-31 stretch that was just a few seasons ago.

There’s no doubt the biggest change in 2022 will be at quarterback. The fanbase is still split because there was so much love towards Baker Mayfield, but I don’t think anyone can truly argue that Watson is a far superior talent (judging football skills only).

What Mayfield did for this city and team will never be forgotten. He was the bridge quarterback who was able to make the Browns competitive once again. He made this team a destination for free agents rather than having to overpay to attract anyone.

But, at the end of the day, this is a business and business isn’t always easy.

The real question everyone wants an answer to…  What happens next to Baker Mayfield?

No one knows the answer to this (but maybe Berry), so now want to focus on something different. Instead of talking about all the “splash” signings, let’s talk about three underrated moves made by the Browns this offseason.
