The Daily Dawg Tags bring you all the Cleveland Browns news you need to know, including Myles Garrett giving his take on Baker Mayfield and his situation

Myles Garrett has grown into a leader for the Cleveland Browns, so it was just a matter of time before he was asked about the team moving on from Baker Mayfield in favor of Deshaun Watson.

As always, Garrett was very diplomatic in his response as he took the opportunity to wish well for his former teammate. Garrett said that Mayfield has played well in his career when healthy and added that he hopes for the best for him going forward.

Myles Garrett on Cleveland Browns’ QBs: Baker Mayfield will ‘land on his feet’; won’t be ‘judge’ of Deshaun Watson allegations — Jake Trotter, ESPN

"“People come and go, and this is one of those changes,” Garrett said of Mayfield, who has not attended Cleveland’s OTAs so far. “I hope the best for him. I hope he moves on and he does well for himself. … He’s played well when he’s healthy. When he’s healthy, he can do some pretty good things for a team. Just has to find his niche again. I think he has to prove himself, has to get healthy”"

One of the teams Baker Mayfield has been tied to is the Carolina Panthers, who play the Browns in Week 1. Garrett would probably still wish him well, but would also surely love to add his former teammate to the sack totals.

Garrett was also asked about Deshaun Watson and didn’t want to get too in-depth on that situation. While Watson is facing some serious allegations, Garrett says he just wants to judge him for the person he sees.

Browns’ Myles Garrett told Jadeveon Clowney to get here, and he’s happy to have him back — Dan Labbe, Cleveland.com

"“I told him to get his a– here. That was about it,” Garrett said after the Browns held their fifth practice of OTAs on Wednesday afternoon."

As stated earlier, Garrett has become a team leader and it was surely helpful that he was in Jadeveon Clowney’s ear during the free agency process. With the two back together, Cleveland had an elite set of edge rushers — which helps the entire defense.
