The Cleveland Browns have several player contracts that are somewhat pricey, but the franchise has done a good job at keeping the deals team friendly
The Cleveland Browns have been in the news a lot this offseason primarily because they traded the farm for Deshaun Watson as their new franchise quarterback. Everyone has heard that the team has guaranteed his $230 million contract.
At the same time, they still have Baker Mayfield taking up a roster spot as they still owe him $18.9 million this next season. Do the Browns release Mayfield and eat the salary, or do they still try and make a trade with another team and pass some of that contract off?
For the purposes of this list of contracts, we’ll not include Mayfield’s deal. He’s technically the highest-paid player this season, at least for the moment. Let’s now take a look at the rest of the top-10 highest-paid Browns.
Cleveland Browns highest-paid players No. 10: Amari Cooper

Cap hit in 2022: $4.9 million
Amari Cooper came over to the Browns in a trade with the Dallas Cowboys. His salary this year included an $18.9 million signing bonus. Next season his contract pays him a base salary of $20 million.
Cleveland is expecting big things from their newly acquired wide receiver. I look to see Cooper involved in the offense a lot this season. He had 68 receptions a year ago and 92 catches the year before. He looks to add to his 46 career touchdowns as he takes passes from new quarterback Deshaun Watson.
Can Cooper grab more than eight touchdowns this season? He’s never had a season where he’s caught more than that. This would be a great time to do that.
