4 Reasons Cleveland Browns fans are being set up for disappointment in 2022

Cleveland Browns Reason for Disappointment No. 1 – Baker Mayfield Drama
The NFL is sending the Cleveland Browns a clear message.
They know that Baker Mayfield must be moved, and no one is willing to negotiate with them on a trade. Part of the situation stems from owners being displeased with the team resetting the quarterback market with the monster fully guaranteed deal to Watson, but part of it is just facts.
The Browns don’t need an $18 million quarterback on their roster, and they especially don’t need the drama of Mayfield being unhappy. He did a lot of great things for this organization that no one can take away, but there is no doubt he is going to be kicking and screaming if he doesn’t have a new team soon.
My biggest fear is Berry won’t be willing to cut him. So far, he has been unwilling to trade him because he won’t take on enough of this guaranteed fifth-year rookie option. At the end of the day, it would only cost the Browns a roster spot to keep him vs. a release.
At this point, Berry just needs to find a way to get Mayfield out and keep him quiet. The Seattle Seahawks make a ton of sense, and you shouldn’t have to deal with the direct matchup every single season.
So many contracts have been structured to create cap space for the 2022 season, yet the roster is almost finished. Eat 75 percent of the contract, get a fifth-round pick in 2023 and move on. If Berry tries to get cute and keep Mayfield on the roster, I fear it could be a huge disaster.
