The Cleveland Browns are led by several members of the team that are the heart and soul of the squad. These five players are vital to the team’s success.

Cleveland Browns fans are a passionate bunch, and they like to know that the players they are cheering on every Sunday down along the shores of Lake Erie are giving it everything that they have and are ready to bleed orange and brown with them.

Over the years certain players of the franchise have symbolized the heart and soul of the team.

It started with Otto Graham, the original quarterback of the team way back in the 1940s. It then shifted to the greatest football player of all time, Jim Brown. Since then, players like quarterback Bernie Kosar, linebacker Clay Matthews, cornerback Hanford Dixon, return specialist Josh Cribbs and more recently a player like offensive lineman Joe Thomas carried the torch for their efforts to play Browns football the right way.

The Browns franchise has continued to find players that represent their team well that both show heart and leadership in various forms that have this team ready to get back to the playoffs and be a continuous threat to the rest of the league.

They have drafted well over the last several years or picked up a player or two through trades or free agency that have this team contending annually now. Let’s take a look at five players that today represent Cleveland in the best way. They are the heart and soul of the team. How they go, so goes the team.

Wyatt Teller came to Cleveland from the Buffalo Bills in 2019 via a trade. Teller is a very outspoken member of the team and likes to chat with the local media. He also loves to block and help his running backs like Nick Chubb or Kareem Hunt move the chains and help score touchdowns.

Whenever you watch Teller on highlights after plays, he’s usually blowing up a defender — or two — that he’s blocking and making life a living hell for his opponents.

In the middle of last season, Teller also signed a massive contract extension that will keep him in Cleveland through 2025. The way to the heart of a Cleveland Browns fans is signing contracts that will keep players in town long term. Teller’s new deal is over four years and worth $56.8 million of which $29 is guaranteed. He’s a happy camper and that makes for a player who’s going to play tough in his future.

We’ve seen Teller go alligator hunting down in Florida. Last offseason, there was a photo of him carrying a 10-foot alligator he killed while hunting. That’s the type of activity that many fans adore. He’s a tough player and he now will be in Cleveland long-term.
