5 Cleveland Browns that are the heartbeat of the team

Cleveland Browns heartbeat player No. 4: Kareem Hunt, RB
Kareem Hunt grew up in the suburbs of Cleveland and then went on to play at Toledo in college. In the NFL, he became a star with the Kansas City Chiefs, even winning the running back title in the NFL back in his rookie campaign of 2017.
After some off-the-field issues, he was released and then signed in Cleveland. He was suspended in 2019 but then made it back to the field and the talent and effort that he has brought in every game ever since he’s suited up for his hometown team has been fun to watch.
Hunt likes to go right at his opponent, trying to punish them with his hard-nosed approach. In the Browns playoff win in 2020 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, he took a screen pass early in the game and basically bulldozed his way ahead to the endzone. It was a beautiful moment for fans to watch.
He’s had other spectacular plays that have symbolized his effort and heart. Hunt will try to jump over players or look more like the Tasmanian Devil running with the ball. It may not look so smooth, but he plays hard and wants to help his team every play.
In that same playoff season of 2020, Hunt helped clear the way for Baker Mayfield who was charging for a game-sealing first down. He didn’t get a notch in the stat sheet, but Hunt’s selfless block kept Mayfield going and played a huge part in the win.
Hunt’s efforts have been well documented. Here’s to hoping we see more of those plays this next season.
