The Cleveland Browns hosted their first day of mandatory minicamp on Tuesday and wide receiver David Bell continued to impress the media.
On Tuesday, the Cleveland Browns hosted their first practice of mandatory minicamp in Berea, and third-round pick David Bell keeps turning heads. One of the knocks on Bell was that his athletic testing was bad and that he doesn’t have elite-level speed.
But the thing that always stands out for Bell is that he gets open and catches the football, something he has done repeatedly in OTAs and minicamp. Camryn Justice (@camijustice) tweeted today “I’m not saying it hasn’t happened and I was just focused elsewhere when it did, but through the five open Browns practices, I personally have not seen David Bell drop a single pass—not in position drills, not in 7 on 7s, not in full-team drills. Not one. It’s wild.”

Cleveland Browns News
"“If Watson can’t play, and Mayfield won’t play, the Browns would have to start Jacoby Brissett at quarterback for an entire season, and his career win-loss record is 14-23. Or they could trade for Garoppolo.”"
This isn’t the first time that someone has suggested the Browns will go after a quarterback if they were to lose Deshaun Watson for an entire season. If Deshaun Watson is in fact suspended for all of 2022 running with Jacoby Brissett isn’t exactly inspiring. If the cost for Garoppolo is a low draft pick I do think the Browns should consider it, he is a better player than Brissett and they have the cap space.
"“According to CBS Sports’ Jonathan Jones, the Panthers are showing “urgency” to get a Mayfield trade done with the Browns so the quarterback can get time with the team in minicamp.”"
This is interesting because a bunch of reports is that the Browns do not have leverage and they will have to cut Mayfield. This report suggests that there is a market for Mayfield and that the Browns are smart for sitting on him and letting his value grow. Should they be willing to pay half of Baker’s salary, Andrew Berry should trade him immediately.
