3 Cleveland Browns who could be cut before week 1

Cleveland Browns potential cut No. 1 – Jordan Elliott, Defensive Tackle
Another position where the Cleveland Browns have a ton of depth, but it just so happens to be average depth, is at defensive tackle. The Browns have drafted a defensive tackle the last three years, and to this point, none have been great.
Perrion Winfrey who was the pick this draft appears to have some potential, but he certainly has to work on his run defense if he wants to last in the league. Tommy Togiai looked good at times last season but didn’t get a ton of repetitions either. I’m hoping he is due for a breakout year.
Jordan Elliott continues to be the question mark. After a lot of great moments as a rookie in 2020, it felt like the moments were fewer and fewer in 2021. Not only was he just okay vs. the run, but he also struggled to provide a consistent pass rush and didn’t see the field nearly as much as some expected.
After signing Taven Bryan in free agency, I think he, Winfrey, and Togiai are certainly safe. When it comes to Sheldon Day and Elliott, I think it’s very close when it comes to talent, but Day will likely win the battle because of his size and strength.
I’ve been saying this for months and have yet to see anything, but Berry needs to consider a veteran big man at the position to sure up the run defense.
The release of Elliott would be another one of cutting him a year early for the sake of winning now.
