Cleveland Browns: 3 remaining free agents to seal the deal

Cleveland Browns Free Agent Singing No. 1 – Sheldon Richardson
At first, I didn’t want to see the Cleveland Browns bring back Sheldon Richardson. He was fantastic for the team in 2019 and 2020, but I did think the organization moved on at the right time. Richardson has been in the league for nine seasons, but now I’m starting to lean on having him back for one more run.
The Browns have a ton of depth at defensive tackle, but none with any real experience. Richardson not only brings in experience, but he is also both effective vs. the run and can rush the passer. If you remember in 2020 when the Browns had so many injuries and suspensions on the defense, Richardson was at times the best player on the field moving all around the defensive line.
Not only would Richardson be a great leader and help develop some of the young defensive tackles on the Browns roster, but he would also be a dependable body that can’t be undervalued. Richardson has missed only one game in the last five seasons which is an unreal feat at his position.
Now, the Browns aren’t going to offer him $10 million per year, but they should be willing to play ball with a one-year or two-year deal with low guarantees.
I think Richardson is certainly past his prime but could be a crucial player on this defense if Berry brought him back for one more year.
