Cleveland Browns Scapegoat No. 2 – Deshaun Watson

Many of you may have expected Deshaun Watson to be the No. 1 scapegoat on my list, but I’ll let you click through to fill that suspense. But there is no doubt that the pressure will be on Watson next year.

Many are questioning his morals, some are questioning his ability to play in the cold, and others are questioning whether or not he was worth six picks and a guaranteed contract of $230 million for the next five seasons.

Just like you, I don’t know the answers to these questions, but I do know if things don’t go well, people will turn on Watson quickly. I’m worried that even if he is suspended for a full year you may see some give up on him. I’m only speaking from a football standpoint, I’m not a judge and have access to zero court documents to make a judgment.

I’m not saying I’ll blame the folks who bring rage if the Watson plan doesn’t work out but let’s just be happy that we are taking a chance on a quarterback that has shown he can be elite. Do you think trying to trade Baker Mayfield is tough right now? Try and trade a contract like Watson if he has a poor year in 2022.
