3 Cleveland Browns role players who will make or break 2022 season
By Jacob Roach
In order for the Cleveland Browns to make it back to the playoffs in 2022, they will need impactful seasons from these three role players.
The Cleveland Browns absolutely need their starters play at a high level if they want success in 2022. But the role players and situational guys will have a large role in their success if they are to find their way back into the playoffs this year. The roster top to bottom has plenty of talent not just the starting 11 on both ends.
Let’s take a look at three players that will play a big role in rather 2022 is a success or failure for the Browns.
Cleveland Browns role player to make or break season No. 3- Ronnie Harrison, safety
The 2021 season for safety Ronnie Harrison wasn’t anything to write home about, which made it surprising when they re-signed him. He was still solid in run support, especially when played in the box as a linebacker, but he struggled in coverage and with some bad penalties. But Joe Woods loves to use three safeties a lot in his scheme so a solid year from Harrison is definitely needed.
Harrison is likely to be consistently the third safety behind Grant Delpit and John Johnson this year, a lesser role will make things easier on him. If he can return to some of his 2020 form where he was one of the better players on this defense it has a chance to be special.
Harrison has the speed and athleticism to make an impact against the mobile quarterbacks the Browns will face in the AFC. He has the talent the question is can he use it and cut out the costly penalties it will help the Browns have a good season.
