5 nightmare scenarios for Cleveland Browns in 2022

Cleveland Browns nightmare scenario No. 4: Secondary falters
Early on last season, the Browns secondary struggled in several games, especially late which led to some early losses. Who can forget Week 1 in Kansas City against the Chiefs when safety John Johnson let wide receiver Tyreek Hill catch a Hail Mary of a pass that gave the Chiefs life late in that game? That momentum shift led to the Browns collapsing in the fourth quarter and losing the game.
Then there was the game against the Los Angeles Chargers where the secondary gave up several long pass plays that led to scores and that eventually resulted in another loss in a game they could have won.
Cleveland’s secondary has the players to compete, but they’ll have to be better prepared from the opening kickoff in Week 1 if the Browns want to be legitimate contenders and not pretenders.
Cornerback Denzel Ward is back with a huge contract extension. His teammates Greedy Williams and Greg Newsome II are back as well. The back end of the secondary will have Johnson and Ronnie Harrison Jr. along with Grant Delpit running around trying to keep their opponents in front of them.
Communication will be key and if they are on the same page then this season will be deemed a success.
But everything could go south early but if that happens will they be able to recover? They showed some resiliency a year ago. Let’s hope the start to the season is a better one.
