Cleveland Browns nightmare scenario No. 2: Wins don’t come early

Last season, and like most before it, the Browns lost the Week 1 opener and got off on the wrong foot. Winning that first game would be a big plus for a team like Cleveland because of that fateful history.

With the current state of affairs with the Browns, being that we don’t know yet of quarterback Deshaun Watson’s fate and we have another quarterback who still hasn’t been released or traded in Baker Mayfield, the last thing this team needs when the season starts is to get off to slow start. Fans of the team are already very divided because of some of the recent actions from the front office.

A losing streak early in the year would be a huge nightmare. Considering they play the Carolina Panthers, New York Jets, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Atlanta Falcons in the first four games, any struggle in these games will lead to some real skepticism among the loyal fan base.

Cleveland Browns nightmare scenario No. 1: Watson suspended all year

The biggest nightmare of all would be if Deshaun Watson is suspended for any length of time or even the whole season. The Browns are taking a big risk with Watson and his guaranteed five-year $230 million contract.

Some have said the Browns were prepared for the potential suspension because the first year of the contract is limited to $1 million for the season and the team is looking at Watson as a long-term investment and him being here 10 years.

However, Cleveland wants to spin it and try and save their pride, but if Watson doesn’t play this season, it will be a huge letdown after a hugely tumultuous offseason.

As fans of the Browns, nightmare scenarios are usually pretty unpredictable, but they do happen in our experiences. Let us hope that none of the aforementioned possibilities do come true this season, but even if they do, we’ll still be cheering for our favorite team.
