Kareem Hunt recently spoke on the Deshaun Watson situation and said it is ‘definitely stressful’ for the Cleveland Browns

Kareem Hunt recently opened up about several topics at his youth camp, covering everything from his injury-plagued 2021 season to his future with the Cleveland Browns. He even touched on the current quarterback situation as Cleveland moves on from Baker Mayfield to Deshaun Watson.

Of course, when discussing Watson, the topic of a suspension is always bound to come up. As expected, it did with Hunt who said he believes the team is built to “win now” even if they have to turn to Jacoby Brissett.

As for the entire legal situation lingering overhead, he said that he and the players are trying to stay focused on themselves but that it has been stressful for the organization.

"“Yeah, it’s definitely stressful for them,” Hunt said via Ashley Bastock of Cleveland.com. “It’s tough because they’re trying to figure out what pieces they’ve got for the season and what plays they want to put it. You know, there’s different plays for Deshaun and (backup) Jacoby (Brissett), different playbook, different things we can do at quarterback.”"

Of course, the Browns knew this would be the case when they landed Watson. At the time of the trade, Watson had 22 unresolved sexual misconduct cases brought up against him. Even so, Cleveland was willing to send three first-round picks while also offering him a fully guaranteed $230 million.

Since then, two more were added but 20 of the cases have been settled. With four cases still pending, Watson and the NFL already had their hearing to decide on his future in the league.

Hunt did speak on more than Watson, also discussing his desire to stay with the team and his excitement to be back on the field following a year where he was sidelined for nine games.

Hunt said it was hard to watch the games from home, an unfamiliar feeling for him since he had never dealt with such injuries.

While discussing his contract, he laughed as he said he hopes to get paid but also reiterated that he wants to stay in Cleveland for the long haul.

The Browns do have options though with Jerome Ford and D’Ernest Johnson also serving as backups behind Nick Chubb. Still, Chubb and Hunt are a dynamic combination and it would be fun to see them continue to frustrate opposing teams for many more years.
