The Cleveland Browns have put together a strong roster for 2022, but as we head into July, three big questions still need to be answered.

We are now weeks away from the heavy offseason work beginning and only six weeks away from the start of the 2022 preseason for the Cleveland Browns. With the 4th of July now behind us, summer will start to wind down and football season will come to full force.

Andrew Berry and the entire Browns organization have been busy this offseason trying to craft the perfect roster to compete with a heavily talented AFC for a Super Bowl run. And while this team appears to be very close, there are still some big questions that need some answers before the start of the season.

Cleveland Browns Question No. 3 – Are they done in free agency?

It’s tough to act like the Browns haven’t been active this offseason after pulling off trades for Deshaun Watson and Amari Cooper. They also have done a tremendous job keeping their own guys with long-term contracts to Denzel Ward and David Njoku.

Not to sound like a greedy fan who always demands more, but there are still two big holes on this roster in my opinion. Will Berry sign a defensive tackle or wide receiver free agent before the start of the season?

The current roster has good depth at both positions, but it feels like a lot of these guys are overvalued. Anthony Schwartz was a third-round pick last year who has a ton of speed but has shown no signs of being a true contributor.

Donovan Peoples-Jones has shown flashes of great but has yet to be a consistent piece either. I do like the addition of Cooper, but I believe they are missing one more piece to make this a legitimate group.

It’s a similar situation at defensive tackle. Tommy Togiai and Jordan Elliott are young guys with high ceilings, but the consistency has been lacking. Taven Bryan was a great addition, but he is a one-trick pony and is only a pass-rushing threat at the interior defensive line spot.

I don’t think Berry needs to spend a lot of money at either position, but two discount veterans could be exactly what this team needs to push them over the edge.
