The Cleveland Browns have a ton of talent, but these three guys could still find a way to steal a starting spot before the 2022 season.

With the Cleveland Browns getting set to start training camp in the next few weeks, the roster is starting to take form. It appears that Andrew Berry has most of the puzzle put together, with the final one being Deshaun Watson.

This is a team that can compete for a Super Bowl with Watson under center, and a team that will struggle to make the playoffs without him. It’s not that the roster is bad, but quarterback is just such an important position in the league right now.

Those days of the dominating defense carrying a team to the Super Bowl are over with quarterbacks like Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Tom Brady, and Aaron Rodgers. I say most of the roster is set, but there still could be a few surprises. These three players could squeak out a starting spot.

No. 3 – David Bell, Wide Receiver

The Purdue standout, David Bell, had as good of a collegiate year as anyone. He racked up the catches and yards and even went against some tough defensive opponents. He always goes the other team’s best defensive back, yet still produced huge numbers.

However, a lack of athleticism with a poor combine performance really killed his stock in the 2022 NFL Draft. At the beginning of the season, some had him with a first-round grade, and by April some were really questioning if Berry reached to get him in round three.

So far it sounds like he has been phenomenal in camp. What he lacks in athleticism he makes up for with intelligence and elite route running. Dare I say he could be a comparable Jarvis Landry? Luckily it won’t cost the Browns over $15 million to have Bell next season as a rookie.

Don’t expect 1,000 yards or a Pro-Bowl season, but I think you could see Bell steal the third wide receiver position and have a very solid rookie year, especially if Watson is the one throwing a majority of the balls his way.
